July was not a good reading month for me as far as quantity goes- I only read 8 books. And unfortunately I had two duds, some OK/good reads and thankfully a few really good books that I completely enjoyed.
My July reading list...
- "Man of Her Dreams" - Tami Hoag (0 stars/DNF)
- "Silver Borne" - Patricia Briggs (4.5 stars)
- "First Drop of Crimson"- Jeaniene Frost (3.5 stars)
- "His Voice, His Command"- Vonna Harper *ebook (1 star)
- "Not Just an Orgy"- Sally Painter *ebook (5 stars)
- "Changing Perspective"- Marilu Mann *m/m ebook (5 stars)
- "Jekel Loves Hyde"- Beth Fantaskey (YA review on my YA blog "The Cracked Spine")
- "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" - JK Rowling *re-read* (5 stars)
I don't know why but summer seems to always toss me into a reading funk unless I have just discovered a "new to me" author or series to dive into. Maybe it's the heat or having the kids home on school break or perhaps more time outdoors. Whatever it is, I don't like it. I miss reading 20+ books a month and hope to get my reading groove back very soon.
Anyone else reading less lately??
I did manage to complete my M/M Reading 2010 Challenge this month and I've kept up with the Re-Read 2010 Challenge (see right sidebar), so that's something to be happy about!

Hey there, Ms.M!
I'd be happy to read 4 books in a month. I can't seem to read more than one in a two week period. But that's okay. I don't think I mind...much. Only that my tbr shelf seems to be the same books all the time, since I'm not buying them anymore either. It's all good :).
Glad to see you are enjoying the Harry Potter series. Love those books!
Yes, My TBR piles are not going down to fast this summer. So you're not alone.
Sorry to be such a spoil sport but my reading has gone up this summer. It's too darn hot to be going out and doing anything...I love my Air Conditioning!
I'm sort of in a stasis myself with respect to reading Ms. M. I do think it is the season and the horrific heat we have been having to endure this summer.
Yes------> I'm miserable... :(
Well MsM my reading habits are a bit less in the summer but still substantial since I'm a book a day reader. The bit less is due to spending time playing in my flower garden.
Yes! I'm retired and do exactly as I please with my time now and I love it:)
I'm not sure what it is, but I'd be willing to accept a pile of new books and some cooler weather and see if that helps! Hey, btw, did you see that Simone Elkeles won a RITA for Perfect Chemistry? Made me think of you:-)
I'm lucky if I read 4 books a month. I've been very slow lately.
20 books a month is really amazing!
