"Surrender" by Kimberly Zant

I've found a new author to glom - Kimberly Zant. Considering my previous taste record for romance/erotica, I really should not have liked "Surrender" by Ms. Zant at all, but being the contradicting, conflicting and fickle person I can be at times, I loved it! You see it had several strikes against it before I even opened the first page.

1)I don't usually like books written in 1st person unless they are YA books and this erotica was anything but YA material.

2) I don't care for 'submissive' vs dom stuff, yet I loved this one. Then there's the weird sex bondage clothing that I almost never like and yet it worked perfectly in this story-though it sounded terribly uncomfortable!

And finally, 3) the dreaded sex with the heroine while she's got her period- ewww, but I didn't mind it in this story.

In this story, it was a sort of intimate sex scene that 'bonded' the dom male Kaelen to her and what led to it was hysterical. You see the men failed to consider that in the 6 week time of their erotic escapades that a woman would get a period, thus putting her 'out of commission' for several days (oh the long faces and whines). But Kaelen doesn't believe Anna has her period, he thinks she just wants a break from him and the other men. He learned otherwise. So IF someone had told me all that, I would NEVER have read this book- so glad you'll kept your yaps shut! LOL Now if me opening my big yap has made anyone go 'ewww, not for me' just let me tell you, this one might surprise you. I think it all worked for me because it was told from the woman's point of view and you felt her shock, dismay, embarrassment and every other emotion she felt. It just worked in my opinion.

But let me back up, the story is about Anna, a struggling single mom who is desperate for money so she can fight to keep custody of her children and afford a home for them. She finds a ad in the paper to be a submissive for 6 weeks and get paid a large amount of money. She figures she can give up 6 weeks of her life to earn the money she needs for her children and their future. She has reservations and she's nervous as hell about the whole situation, but desperate times call for desperate measures and she will do anything for her children, so she signs the 6 week contract and agrees to become a submissive.

What Anna doesn't expect is to be turned on by five men and to want the sex and fondling (she had planned to let them use her body, but remain mentally separated from what was happening to her). There was no ignoring the fire these sexy hot men lit in her body. The "host" of the mansion she's staying at and the leader of the other men is Kaelen. Kaelen tells Anna what to wear when, supervises her bathing, dressing and who she does what with when. The other four men are Gareth (Kaelen's brother), Chance, Dev and Cameron- all related family members to Kaelen and Gareth. Anna comes to like each man for different reasons and they all developed feelings for her that they didn't expect.

There is lots of erotic sex, but it's not the whole fast moving plot. The story of her children, her desperation and the men's backgrounds come out as the story unfolds. For a fast pace, quick read story it was packed full of goodies. Hot, sexy men, a heroine you felt compassion for, steamy sex, action, some mystery and a happily ever after. I really liked this erotica menage book (very fast read, only 171 pages), I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
